About Us

The Whole Country Caboodle has been providing the quilting community with an exclusive line of whimsical designs and fun sewing projects since 1992. Located in Nashua, Iowa, our design studio is nestled in the country, overlooking the beauty of Cedar Lake.

Family owned and operated, with three generations of women working side by side, we’re passionate about pouring our heart and soul into the patterns, kits, and fabrics we create!

Leanne Anderson, owner of The Whole Country Caboodle has been designing kits and patterns since 1992.  She is located in Nashua, Iowa, where her design studio is nestled out in the country overlooking the beautiful Cedar Lake where she works alongside her mom, Jan, and daughter, Kaytlyn.

Leanne is not new to the fabric industry as she has been designing fabric for the past 16 years.  Her whimsical characters are generally the focus of her designs, both in fabric, patterns, and kits.  Leanne loves to work with color and finds a real passion in putting together prints, plaids, and solids, where truly she feels that God gets the credit for her abilities.  A few of her signature items are her “Caboodles in a Box” packaged in polka dot boxes, her “Alphabet Soup Quilts” & “Caboodle Coasters”.

When Leanne isn’t designing, she is spending time with her husband Ed, 6 beautiful grandchildren; Toby, Leighton, Finley, Maxwell, Anderson, and Harlyn, or hanging out with grown children; Shelby and husband Tim, Taylor and wife Amy, Kaytlyn and husband Joe.

Leanne's youngest daughter Kaytlyn joined the business after graduating from college in 2010.  Kaytlyn takes an active part at the computer, updating the website, creating promotional materials, designing pattern fronts and much more.

Kaytlyn and Leanne have started designing fabric together, which is a ton of fun!  They make great partners, with Leanne's knowledge of the industry and drawing skills, and Kaytlyn's graphic design skills!  Kaytlyn loves spending time with family, friends, and her husband, Joe, with their two dogs, Breck and Baley!

Many of you know Jan by her smiling face at Market, having attended them with Leanne since 1994. Even though she isn't going to work the markets anymore, she is still an active part of the business.

Jan loves to travel when she can and spends time out in her garden.
